Climbing

Scavenger - Gogarth

The route is another 3 star classic situated at the far end of the main cliff. It is all about pitch 2 which is 45m's of fantastic climbing described as pure magic in the guide. We went about 2 hours before low water and the tide was just low enough to get to the route. As a marker the route is the 7th crack after the small pinnacle you can see at the end of pic 3 below. There is also a step up of about a metre on the sea level platform with the prominant crack of Hyena on your right. The best time to go is when there are calm seas, in the afternoon when there is a mid/low tide. A sunny day also helps to dry out the rock quickly and burn off the dampness.
